BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell and Appalachian State opened the 2019 men's soccer preseason schedule with a 1-1 draw Monday at the Eakes Athletic Complex.
 
Adrian Morales put the Camels ahead in the 48th minute off Aigbekan Nosegbe's assist before Alex Hernandez equalized for Appalachian four minutes later.
 
"We just wanted to get a good run out, get the nerves out, and get everyone the opportunity to play," said head coach Dustin Fonder.  "Now's the time to do that and get ready for the regular season."
 
The Camels continue their preseason schedule Saturday in a 7 p.m. kick-off at Elon.  CU opens the regular season Aug. 30 at Memphis.
