Ben Fish, a two-time graduate of Campbell University and four-year member of the Campbell baseball program, is now the founder and partner of Jackson Hill & Fish Private Wealth Advisors in Raleigh.
Fish earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies in 2013 before completing his MBA from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business in 2015. Upon graduation, he began his career as a financial advisor before co-founding Jackson Hill & Fish in 2019.
A catcher for the Fighting Camels from 2010-13, Fish finished his career with a .272 batting average with 80 hits, including 13 doubles and five home runs. In 2011, his sophomore season, he batted .327 while driving in 25 runs.
A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., Fish continues Campbell baseball's Alumni Spotlight series, allowing Campbell baseball alumni to share how the program prepared them for their professional careers and highlight their professional accomplishments.

What does Campbell baseball mean to you?
Campbell baseball is the ultimate fraternity – lifelong relationships are built and continue to grow with teammates, friends and family. I'm proud to say I was part of a program that instills discipline on and off the field. The time I spent at Campbell prepared me for life after baseball and helped mold me into who I am today.
How did your time as a student-athlete at Campbell prepare you for your career and life after college?
During my time at Campbell, accountability and baseball were synonymous terms. We were held to the highest standards as representatives of a University, a baseball program, and a community. In order to excel as student-athletes, we needed to be efficient and proactive. This way of life helped prepare me for graduate school, life in the real world, and ultimately starting my own business.
What originally attracted you to attend Campbell a student-athlete?
Campbell provides great opportunities as an athlete and in the classroom. I wanted to be part of a tight-knit program that was family-oriented and committed to building a winning tradition.
What are some of the most memorable moments from your time as a student-athlete at Campbell?
I was very fortunate to be a part of some great teams with some great people. Lifelong memories were made daily. The list is too long to share! A few of the big ones on the field would be 41 wins in 2012, 18-game winning streak in 2012 and 49 wins in 2013.
Describe your career path.
After completing my MBA at Campbell, I started my career at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor in 2015. In 2019, my business partners and I launched our own firm, Jackson Hill & Fish Private Wealth Advisors.
What is your greatest professional accomplishment?
My greatest professional accomplishment is starting my own business.
What was the most important thing you learned while you were at Campbell?
Appreciate the little things. In the day-to-day grind, it is easy to be caught up in the moment. Don't forget to appreciate the little things along the way that help get you there. Welcome the daily challenges as an opportunity to grow as a team and as an individual.
What advice would you give to current student-athletes at Campbell?
Cherish every moment. Learn from your mistakes. Keep a level head. Be thoughtful with every decision you make, no matter how big or small a situation may seem. Always be willing to lend a helping hand. To your support system that has helped get you to where you are today, and continues to help you, tell them how much you love and appreciate them every chance you get.
