Mazziotta joins staff as Director of Operations

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Head coach Sharonda McDonald has announced the addition of Laura Mazziotta to the Campbell softball staff as director of operations for the team.

"I am very excited for this opportunity to join the Campbell softball staff and I am so appreciative to the Campbell community for welcoming me to Buies Creek," said Mazziotta. "After working at a conference office for the past year, I am glad to be back on a campus and interacting with student-athletes on a daily basis. Coach McDonald and her staff have put together a great team for the upcoming fall and spring seasons, and I look forward to watching this team succeed!"

Mazziotta, a Bethesda, Md. native, graduated from Boston College in 2018 with a degree in history and minor in environmental studies. Mazziotta, a former student-athlete, participated on Boston College's rowing team. She was elected team captain her senior season and received numerous academic and leadership honors, including serving on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and participating in the Career in Sports Forum led by the NCAA.

She joins the Camels after previously serving as a Championships Intern with the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). With the ACC, Mazziotta assisted with the planning of 24 Olympic sport championships by overseeing both VIP and student-athlete hospitality, preparing credentials and championships materials, and compiling data from surveys among several other duties.

Mazziotta also previously served as an administrative assistant with the Flynn Fund, a foundation that serves to support Boston College athletics. In her role, Mazziotta created profiles of student-athletes for donors, answered phone calls, and inputted donor information into a millennium database to record investments made toward the Flynn Fund.

"I am very excited to have Laura join our staff," said McDonald, "She comes to us highly recommend and was able to gain a lot of valuable experience working in the ACC office over the past year. As a former athlete at Boston College she understands the inner workings of an athletics team and will fit in perfectly team."
