LYNCHBURG, VA. - Patience Marshall broke her own shot put school record for the third straight time, setting a new mark at 16.19m (53' 1.50") as she placed first in the event at the Liberty Flames Invite today.
Marshall's mark of 16.19m currently ranks as the 18th best in the country this season. The mark shattered her previous record of 15.75m set at the Gamecock Opener on Jan. 18. Jenna Dankert took third in the shot put, throwing for 14.22m (46' 8").Â
Andrew Ward also earned a podium finish for the Campbell throwers, placing second in the men's weight throw with a mark of 16.17m (53' 0.75").Â
Athanas Kioko placed first in the men's mile for the second time this season, finishing in 4:10.89 while teammate Laderique McNeill finished second with a time of 4:14.78. McNeill's time ranks ninth all-time in school history.
Shanley Koekemoer also placed first in the women's mile, taking the event win in 5:04.68 while Madelyn Rodriguez took third overall finishing in 5:09.03.Â
In the men's 3000 meters, Godwin Kimutai shined by running a 8:26.90 and finishing first overall in the event. Kimutai's time sits as the fifth-fastest time in school history. Newcomer transfer Dennis Kiptoo took second in the same event in 8:39.06.
Graeme Fisher and Tyler Dollhausen both reached the podium in the 800 meters. Fisher took second in 1:55.96 while Dollhausen captured third in 1:56.12.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Dameon Creary earned a podium finish as Campbell track & field wrapped up the day two at the Carolina Challenge.
Creary took third in the men's long jump, clearing 7.37m (24' 2.25") in the invite event.
Hailey Huston Myles just missed out on a podium finish as she earned a personal record mark of 12.34m (40' 6").Â
Six Camels earned personal records across the men and women's 200 meters including Chastity Pickett, Naelee Stone, Jenae Dorsey, Reggie Barlow, Trevon Compito and Daequon Carr to finish the day at the meet.
