Four Camels named to ASUN All-Decade team

Dunn, Guillaume, Sundberg, Wynns honored on 2001-10 squad

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The ASUN Conference announced the Men's Golf 2001-10 All-Decade team as 20 student-athletes were named to the list across eight programs. ETSU led the way with five selections, while Campbell placed four on the All-Decade team.
 
Simon Dunn (2001-02), Vaita Guillaume (2008-12), Fredric Sundberg (2004-08) and Braxton Wynns (2000-04) represented Campbell on the unit.  After 17 years as a member of the ASUN, Campbell rejoined the Big South Conference in the summer of 2011.
 
During the decade, seven programs captured ASUN Championship titles in ETSU (2), Georgia State (2), Jacksonville State (2), Campbell (1), UCF (1), Jacksonville (1) and North Florida (1) while nine student-athletes from seven different earned Player of the Year status. Over the course of the decade, seven student-athletes advanced to NCAA Regionals as an individual and six teams advanced to the NCAA Championship with ETSU making three consecutive appearances (2006-08).
 
To be named to the All-Decade Team an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team; three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections or multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team; Player/Freshman/Scholar-Athlete of the Year/Championship Medalist, three All-Conference selections, two First Team All-Conference selections or three top-10 at ASUN Championship.

Simon Dunn, Campbell (2001-02)
Dunn is one of two Campbell golfers to earn the title of ASUN Golfer of the Year, doing so in 2002. He earned ASUN All-Conference honors in each of his two seasons in the league with a first team nod in 2002. He posted back-to-back Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2001-02) with his top finish coming in 2002 (2nd). Dunn received an individual bid to participate in the 2002 NCAA East Regional.  Dunn's career stroke average (73.3) ranks 11th all-time in Campbell men's golf history.
 
Vaita Guillaume, Campbell (2008-11)
Guillaume helped the Fighting Camels earn the program's second ASUN Championship title in 2009 after placing second with a 214 (69-69-76). At the 2010 ASUN Championship, he carded another Top-10 finish (T9; 76-73-70—219). He also earned second team All-ASUN honors each of his three years (2009-11). After the Camels re-joined the Big South Conference, Guillaume was named Big South Golfer of the Year in 2012 when he went on to win the NCAA Greensboro Regional (70-71-72—213) at Grandover Resort and advance to the NCAA Championship at Riviera CC.  He stands third in school records for career stroke average (72.21), second in top-10 finishes (19) and T1st in career wins (5).
 
Fredric Sundberg, Campbell (2004-08)
The 2005 ASUN Freshman of the Year, Sundberg is one of three Fighting Camels to be a three-time All-ASUN selection (2006-08) earning first team nods in 2007 and 2008. Sundberg had two Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2007-08), both tied for fifth. Sundberg participated as an individual in the 2007 NCAA East Regional and he ranks fourth among school career leaders in stroke average (72.53).  He owns the school record for career top-10 finishes (20).
 
Braxton Wynns, Campbell (2000-04)
Wynns was the only golfer from Campbell to be a four-time ASUN all-conference selection (2001-04) and the only Fighting Camel to earn three first team All-ASUN selections (2001, 2003-04) during his career. He finished in the Top-10 at the ASUN Championship in 2002 and 2004 with his best finish coming in 2004 (2nd; 69-70-68—207).  He compiled 19 career top-10 finishes (T2nd in school history) and compiled a 73.22 scoring average (10th).
 
Matias Anselmo, Jacksonville State (2001-03)
The 2003 ASUN Golfer of the Year and 2002 Freshman of the Year, Anselmo is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection. He helped guide Jacksonville State to back-to-back ASUN Championship titles in 2002 and 2003. He also posted two consecutive Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (T6th; 2002 - 214 and 2nd; 2003 - 208).
 
Jose Campra, Jacksonville State (2000-03)
Campra is one-of-two golfers from JSU to earn ASUN Championship medalist honors doing so in 2002 after leading the Gamecocks to their second ASUN Championship crown. The three-time All-ASUN selection with two First Team nods (2001-02) also had a Top-10 finish in 2003 (6th; 212) helping Jacksonville State win back-to-back titles.
 
Rhys Davies, ETSU (2005-07)
In his two seasons as an ASUN student-athlete, Davies was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, the 2007 Golfer of the Year and a two-time Top-10 finisher at the ASUN Championship. In 2007, he helped the Bucs capture the ASUN Championship crown after shooting a 215 (T3rd). He also collected seven ASUN Golfer of the Week honors, the third-most in ASUN history.
 
Jeff Dennis, North Florida (2005-09)
The 2006 ASUN Freshman of the Year is a three-time All-ASUN selection with three ASUN Championship Top-10 finishes (2007-09). Dennis helped the Ospreys capture the program's first-ever ASUN Championship crown in 2008 and the first NCAA Division I Regional appearance. His best finish at the ASUN Championship took place in 2007 (T3rd) with a 215.
 
Rhys Enoch, ETSU (2007-12)
The 2012 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and 2008 Freshman of the Year, Enoch is one-of-eight in ASUN history to be a four-time All-ASUN honoree. He earned three First Team nods (2008-10) and had three Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2008, 2010 and 2012). The former Buccaneer helped the team capture its second ASUN Championship title in 2010. Enoch also advanced to the NCAA National Championship competition in 2010 as an individual, where he finished T34th (216).
 
D.J. Fiese, Georgia State (1998-2002)
A two-time First Team All-Conference selection in 2000 and 2001, Fiese helped Georgia State capture back-to-back ASUN Championship crowns in 2000 and 2001. He also carded three consecutive Top-10 finishes (2000-02) with his best finish taking place in 2002 when he tied for third (211).
 
Josh Gallman, USC Upstate (2007-10)
Gallman is a three-time All-ASUN selection with two First Team nods in 2008 and 2010. He is the first of two former USC Upstate golfers to earn back-to-back Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2009-10), Ryan Cornfield being the second (2015-16). Gallman's best finish at the Championship was third with a 214 in his final season (2010).
 
Ty Harris, Georgia State (2002-05)
Harris is one-of-three from Georgia State to have three Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2003-05). He is also a three-time All-Conference selection with a First Team honor in 2003. In 2005, he helped the Panthers capture the program's fourth ASUN Championship title. His best individual finish at the Championship was in 2004 with a 209.
 
Russell Knox, Jacksonville (2003-07)
Knox is one of three men's golfers to be inducted into the ASUN Hall of Fame (2017 Class). The former Dolphin is a three-time All-ASUN selection with back-to-back First Team nods in 2006 and 2007. He also has two Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship, his first coming in 2006 when he and teammate Duncan Stewart tied for first with the lowest 54-hole score in ASUN Championship history (13-under), helping JAX claim its first ASUN Championship title.
 
Ben Lockwood, Jacksonville (1998-02)
Lockwood carded three consecutive Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship, including a tie for second in 2001 (213), Lockwood is one of two Dolphins to score a 65 in a round during the ASUN Championship. He is a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree (2000, 2002).
 
Seamus Power, ETSU (2006-10)
The 2009 ASUN Golfer of the Year is one-of-six to be a two-time ASUN Championship medalist and the only player from ETSU, winning in 2007 (210; -3) and 2010 (210; -6). Power was also tabbed the ASUN Freshman of the Year in 2007 and is a four-time All-ASUN selection with First Team nods from 2009-10. Rhys Enoch is the only other ETSU player to be a four-time All-Conference honoree.
 
Barry Roof, UCF (2002-04)
Roof is one of four Knights to earn medalist honors, taking the title in 2004 as he led UCF to the ASUN Championship crown. His 54-hole score of 205 in 2004 is tied for the third-lowest total in ASUN Championship history. Roof was also tabbed the ASUN Golfer of the Year in 2004 and was a First Team All-Conference honoree.
 
Gareth Shaw, ETSU (2005-08)
The 2008 ASUN Championship medalist and 2008 ASUN Golfer of the Year is one-of-two ETSU golfers to have three Top-10 finishes at the ASUN Championship (2006-08) and three consecutive First Team All-ASUN selections. Shaw helped the Bucs capture the team title at the 2007 ASUN Championship after finishing tied for fifth (218).
 
Duncan Stewart, Jacksonville (2003-07)
The 2005 Golfer of the Year is one of four in ASUN history to earn back-to-back ASUN Championship medalist honors (2005-06), Stewart helped lead the Dolphins to the program's first ASUN Championship crown (2006). He set the low 54-hole score vs. par in 2006 with a 13-under par (206) and has the second-lowest score with a 204 in 2005. He is also the only JAX golfer to be a three-time First Team All-ASUN selection (2005-07).
 
Michael Stewart, ETSU (2008-10)
Stewart, the 2009 ASUN Freshman of the Year, earned medalist honors at the 2009 ASUN Championship (213; -3). He also helped ETSU claim the 2010 ASUN Championship crown and earned his second Top-10 finish at the tournament (8th). He is a two-time All-ASUN selection with his lone First Team nod in 2009.
 
Allen Thompson, Georgia State (1998-2002)
The 2001 ASUN Golfer of the Year, Thompson was a member of Georgia State's 2000 and 2001 ASUN Championship teams and won medalist honors in 2001 with a six-under-par 201. He earned two All-ASUN selections with a First Team nod in 2001.
