BUIES CREEK, N.C. – For the second time this season, Campbell's Caleb Hopkins has been named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week.

Hopkins posted another 2-0 week for the Camels, recording a win over a ranked SoCon foe, as well as a pin as Campbell finished the conference dual season undefeated for the second straight year.

The Palmer, Alaska native started the day by pinning Bellarmine's Samuel Woolf in just 41 seconds, a season best time. A redshirt sophomore, Hopkins then took down No. 12 Matthew Waddell from Chattanooga, 5-2, a crucial part of CU's come from behind win over the Mocs. Hopkins finishes the regular season 9-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in SoCon matches, with his only loss of the year coming to No. 2 Hunter Bolen from Virginia Tech.

This is Hopkins' second SoCon Wrestler of the Week honor this season.

Campbell claimed its third straight SoCon Dual Championship on Friday, finishing its second consecutive undefeated conference season with wins over Chattanooga and Bellarmine. Extending its SoCon dual win streak to 16, Campbell (8-1, 7-0 SoCon) topped Bellarmine 47-3 to open the day, then defeated host Chattanooga 17-15 at McKenzie Arena.

After posted a season-high 47 points against the Knights, CU overcame a 15-3 deficit to top Chattanooga, winning the final four individual matchups for the sweep.

Hopkins was one of four Camels to finish undefeated in SoCon matches, along with Josh Heil (4-0), Chris Kober (4-0) and Austin Murphy (7-0).

Campbell has entered the top-25 for the second straight season, coming in at No. 23 in the NWCA poll, and No. 19 in the InterMat dual rankings.

Campbell will be off until the SoCon Championships, set for February 28 in Boone, N.C.
