Box Score BUIES CREEK - Georgeanna Barefoot pitched a complete game as Campbell earned a 2-1 series finale win over Charleston Southern, Sunday afternoon at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Campbell (20-11, 11-1) earned its 11th straight Big South victory and third straight conference series sweep while Charleston Southern drops to 10-20 overall and 5-13 in the Big South this season.
Barefoot picked up her 10th win of the season after striking out three and allowing five hits in her second complete game performance of the series. Destini England recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases today.
The Camels faced trouble in the 2nd as the Buccaneers loaded the bases with no outs, but a strikeout and some excellent defensive work in the field by Katelyn Chisholm held the visitors from scoring a run. Charleston Southern returned to load the bases in the 3rd but managed to get just one run across the plate, taking a 1-0 lead.
Delaney McDilda scored the tying run in the bottom half of the inning, driving home England from third on a sacrifice fly hit to deep right field. The Camels would take the lead in the next inning as a bases-loaded walk given to Chisholm brought in a run.
Sterling Hairston provided several web gems from second base, as the Camels held Charleston Southern to just one hit across the final four innings.
SeaEnna Satcher and Dominique Mannerino each had two hits on the day for the Buccaneers. Starting pitcher Holly Clark allowed just one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts across all six innings as well.
