BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After suffering its first Big South setback of the season, Campbell looks to rebound Saturday at Gardner-Webb. The opening draw is set for 1:00 p.m. at Spangler Stadium in Boiling Springs, N.C.

The Camels come into the matchup at 3-6 overall and 2-1 in Big South play, while GWU is 4-6 on the year and 1-2 in conference games.

Leading the Camels
Sam Bischoff, a freshman from Pomona, N.Y., owns a team-high 29 points with 24 goals, including 18 unassisted scores, while Julianna Sanchez has also tallied 22 goals with a Big South-leading 87 draw controls and 15 ground balls on the year.

Megan Matthews has posted 23 points on 12 goals and a team-best 11 assists, while Lizzie Yurchak has registered 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists, with 22 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and 42 draw controls.

Chandler Stewart has caused a team-high 12 turnovers with 19 ground balls, while Rebekah Taylor owns a team-leading 22 ground balls with 11 caused turnovers. Alex Salim has a .446 save percentage, with 8.7 saves per game, leading the Big South.

Last time out
High Point used a 6-0 second half run to distance itself from Campbell 23-15 Wednesday afternoon at Barker-Lane Stadium.

The Camels cut HPU's lead to 16-13 with 18:39 remaining on Sam Bischoff's third goal of the day before the Panthers' six goal flurry, including two apiece from Abby Hormes and Ashley Britton. With HPU holding a 10-8 halftime lead, the Panthers opened the second frame with a 4-0 spurt, led by three goals from Hormes.

Campbell scored five of the next seven, including three straight from Ally Heath, to cut the lead to 16-13 before the decisive 6-0 High Point run. High Point totaled 49 shots with just eight turnovers, while forcing 18 CU miscues.

Hormes and Britton combined for 19 points for the Panthers.

Yurchak paced Campbell with six points, notching two goals and a season-high four assists, while Bischoff posted four goals and an assist. Heath and Julianna Sanchez also scored hat tricks in the loss, with Sanchez earning a game-high 11 draw controls. CU's 15 goals matched a season high.
 
Scouting Gardner-Webb
The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a 12-11 nonconference win over Presbyterian. GWU also opened its Big South slate against PC, topping the Blue Hose 16-12 before dropping home contests to Winthrop, 17-10, and Radford, 14-9.

Jada Preston leads the Bulldogs with 33 points on 17 goals and 16 assists, while Talen Francis and Eilish Gately have combined for 46 goals. Francis adds 16 caused turnovers with 21 ground balls.

The Camels are 5-0 all-time against GWU, averaging 20.2 goals per game in the series.

Campbell will travel to Radford for a nonconference meeting with the Highlanders. The Camels opened Big South play with a 15-5 win over Radford on March 13.
