LAST TIME OUT
Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns, helping North Carolina A&T erase an 18-point halftime deficit to defeat Campbell 45-38 at Truist Stadium, handing the Camels their first Big South loss of the season.

The teams combined for 1,101 yards, 566 for A&T and 535 for CU. Six of A&T's touchdowns came on plays of 35 or more yards, including 70 and 42 yard runs from Tuten, who ran for 123 yards in the second half. Wesley Graves' six yard score gave the Aggies a 45-38 lead with 8:54 to play.

The Camels scored touchdowns on their first four drives, all in the first quarter, with QB Hajj-Malik Williams running for two and passing for two more, pushing Campbell to a 28-10 lead.

After a scoreless second quarter, A&T outscored the Camels 20-3 in the third, and reached the end zone on four consecutive possessions to hold off Campbell.
Williams pass for a school record 426 yards, completing 31-of-47 passes and two touchdowns, adding two more rushing scores.

Austin Hite hauled in four catches for 103 yards, a career-high, including a 68 touchdown grab in the second quarter. Chaney Fitzgerald made nine catches for 53 yards, while Bryant Barr and Julian Hill both registered three catches with 88 and 80 yards. Hill added a touchdown catch, also rushing for a score.

LEADING THE CAMELS
Williams is completing over 63 percent of his passes for 244 yards per game with 11 touchdowns, adding 344 yards rushing with seven touchdowns. Bryant Barr has rushed for a team-high 417 yards and two scores, while tight end Julian Hill has hauled in 30 catches for 471 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.

Linebacker CJ Tillman owns a team-high 58 tackles with a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception, while Aaron Maddox owns 44 stops with an interception. Gabe Holmes has registered 38 stops, while defensive ends Brevin Allen and Josh Johnson combining for 17 tackles for loss, including 6.0 sacks.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant is 2-6 on the season and 0-3 in its inaugural Big South campaign, falling 48-40 on the road last week at Gardner-Webb. Four of the Bulldogs' six losses have been one score games.

Zevi Eckhaus is passing for 288.0 yards per game, logging 15 TD throws to go along with 11 interceptions this season, with Landon Ruggieri hauling in 760 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Joe Andreessen leads the Bryant defense with 90 tackles, including 12.0 for loss.

Saturday will mark the first meeting between Campbell and Bulldogs.

WILLIAMS SETS ANOTHER PASSING RECORD
Hajj-Malik Williams amassed a Campbell record 426 passing yards and accounted for four touchdowns on the road at North Carolina A&T.

The quarterback led Campbell on touchdown drives on its first four possessions, helping the Camels jump out to a 28-10 lead in the first quarter. Williams tossed two touchdowns and ran for two more against the Aggies, completing 31-of-47 passes, also rushing for 69 net yards.

His 426 yards eclipsed CU's previous single game record of 342, set by teammate Wiley Hartley just last season in a win over Presbyterian (9/18/21). Williams' first career 300 yard passing game came earlier this season at East Carolina.

The Atlanta, Ga. native became Campbell's all-time passing yards leader earlier this season, and now owns 5,370 for his career.

TOSSING IT AROUND
Austin Hite collected a career best 103 yards receiving on four catches at A&T, including a 68 yard touchdown. Hite is Campbell's first 100 yard receiver this season. He was one of three Campbell targets put up 80 or more yards receiving (Hite 103, Bryant Barr 88, Julian Hill 80).

Chaney Fitzgerald also collected a game-high nine receptions, totaling 53 yards against the Aggies. It was the eighth time in Campbell history a receiver has posted nine or more catches in a game.

FIRST TIME OPPONENTS
Campbell will face off against a whopping eight first time opponents over the course of the 2022 season, including in each of its first four contests, and all six of its nonconference foes.

Since the 2018 campaign, which coincided with the program moving to the Big South, CU had already faced 14 first time opponents heading into the 2022 season, with that number set to balloon to 22 by the end of this year.

New opponents on the schedule in 2022 are The Citadel (September 1), William & Mary (September 10), East Carolina (September 17), North Carolina Central (October 1), Jackson State (October 22), North Carolina A&T (October 29), Bryant (November 5) and Delaware State (November 19).

Of Campbell's 2022 opponents, the Camels have met Charleston Southern the most in their relatively brief history (since 2008), with just five all-time meetings.

ALLEN EYES RECORDS
Brevin Allen became Campbell's all-time tackles for loss leader in the Camels' win over Robert Morris, passing Jack Ryan's (2015-18) 36.5 TFLs. The 2021 All-American also tied CU's career sacks record of 20.5, shared with Ugonna Awuruonye (2013-15).

Allen posted three sacks along with an interception in the first half alone of Campbell's win over RMU. The redshirt senior's 3.0 sacks marked a career high, and tied for the second most in a single game in school history. The interception was the first of the defensive end's career. While owning three of Campbell's six sacks on the day, Allen, a Greensboro, N.C. product, helped the Camels limit RMU to just 188 total yards, a season low for the CU defense, including only eight rushing yards, tied for the second-lowest ground total allowed in its Division I era (since 2008). CU gave up just three rushing yards in a 39-9 win at Davidson in 2015.

SPECIAL TEAMS BEING SPECIAL
Through eight games, Camels have been named Big South Special Teams Player of the Week five times.

All in different special teams units, place kicker Caleb Dowden was named the league's player of the week after kicking three field goals in CU's opener, and returner Josh McNeely followed with weekly honors following the Camels' trip to nationally-ranked William & Mary.

After scoring a touchdown on a blocked punt against NC Central, Jalen Kelsey was also honored. Finally, punter Corey Petersen was named the week six and week eight conference player of the week. He has also named to the FCS Punter of the Year Watch List.

In addition to Campbell's special teams honors, Dowden has already tied the CU single season record for field goals with 10 (Colin Gary, 2019).

NEXT UP
The Camels return home for their home finale on November 12 against Gardner-Webb for the 2022 North Carolina East/West Barbecue Bowl and Senior Day.
