BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell long snapper
Jackson Hayes has been named Third Team Stats Perform FCS All-America.
A Dillon, S.C. native, Hayes was named First Team All-Big South this season, handling every long and short snap for the Camels again in 2022.
Hayes, a graduate student, helped the Camels improve from three field goals made to a school record 14 this season, leading a special teams unit that topped the Big South in punt return defense, ranking second in the conference in net punting and 31st nationally without allowing a block all season.
He was also one of eight Camels to be named 2022 Academic All-District, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Hayes is the fourth Camel to garner outright All-America accolades, following Kurt Odom (fullback, 2013),
Brevin Allen (defensive end, 2021) and
Caleb Snead (wide receiver, 2021).
Four Camels have also been named to various freshman All-America teams, including linebacker
CJ Tillman (2021), quarterback
Hajj-Malik Williams (2019), Snead (2018) and quarterback Daniel Smith (2017). Linebacker
Justice Galloway-Velazquez, meanwhile, was named to HERO Sports' Sophomore All-American team in 2019.
