Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte's Cori Henderson hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth and added three more runs in the sixth as the 49ers pulled away with a 5-0 victory over Campbell Saturday night at Sue M. Dauthridge Stadium.
Henderson's home run came after Campbell held the preseason C-USA favorites scoreless through four innings. Fielding errors plagued CU in the sixth inning as the 49ers managed to bring three more runs across the plate.
Charlotte (9-1) pitcher Amelia Wiercioch held Campbell (3-3) to one hit, striking out seven Camels in a complete game performance.
Claudia Ware connected on the Camels lone hit with a single through the right side in the sixth.
Isabella Smith (2-2) took the loss in the circle for Campbell after allowing two earned runs in six innings of work.
Campbell returns tomorrow for the final day of the Charlotte Invitational. The Camels face #22 / RV James Madison at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rematch against the 49ers at 4:00 p.m.
