Men picked second, women fourth in Big South polls

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Campbell men's track and field team have been voted second while the women's team have been voted fourth in the Big South preseason outdoor track & field polls as voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Campbell men, fresh off from winning its first conference championship in school history during the indoor season, received 72 points in the poll. The Camels led with the most first-place votes in the poll with five but overall finished behind NC A&T who held 75 points overall including four first-place votes.

Points in the polls are based on a weighted system. First-place votes received nine points, followed by eight for second-place votes and so on.

The CU women received 64 points in the poll, behind NC A&T (100), High Point (90) and Hampton (78).
