Allen adds preseason All-America honors

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's Brevin Allen has added more preseason All-America honors, with Phil Steele and HERO Sports naming the senior defensive end to their respective lists.

Allen was named to Phil Steele and HERO Sports' All-America second team, also earning a spot on the 2022 College Football America FCS Starting Lineup.

Allen, the 2022 Big South Conference Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, was recently named to the preseason watch list for the 2022 Buck Buchanan Award, which Stats Perform presents to the national defensive player of the year in college football's Division I subdivision, as well as Second Team Preseason All-America by Stats Perform.

Coming off an All-American season for the Camels in 2021, he led the Big South in sacks (9.5) and tackles for loss (17.5), while ranking in the top-20 nationally in both categories.

The Greensboro, N.C. native, named the 2021 Big South Defensive Player of the Year, was also a finalist for the Stats Perform FCS Buck Buchanan Award last season, setting a Campbell single season record for sacks, while tying the program single season mark in stops for loss, adding 44 total tackles with a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and six hurries.

Campbell will open the 2022 season, its 15th of the program's modern era (since 2008) in Buies Creek on September 1, hosting The Citadel.

Season and single game tickets remain on sale for the 2022 season at GoCamels.com/Tickets, or by phone at 910-893-1459.
