BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After totaling five points in a pair of victories,
Kemy Amiche of Campbell University has been named Big South Conference men's soccer offensive player of the week. He shared the honor with Tony Pineda of High Point. He has also been named to the College Soccer News national team of the week.
Amiche led Campbell to the HBU Invitational championship. In two games, he figured in on four of Campbell's six goals as the No. 22 Camels defeated Incarnate Word (3-0) and Houston Baptist (3-1).
In Thursday's opener vs. UIW, he scored Campbell's second goal as the Camels outshot the Cardinals 24-4, including a 17-0 advantage in the second half.
On Saturday against HBU, Amiche assisted on all three Camel goals in a 3-1 victory. Amiche posted the second three-assist match of his career. He also set up three goals in CU's win over Winthrop last November in the Big South semifinals.
With a team-leading 5 points (1G, 3A), Amiche sparked a Camel attack that outshot its two opponents by a 41-11 margin.
A sophomore from Goussainville, France, Amiche was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I preseason watch list and also to the Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI third team.
Ranked No. 22 in this week's Top Drawer Soccer Top-25 poll, Campbell (2-0-0) returns to action Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff at Davidson that will air on ESPN+.
