VERONA, WIS. –
Henrik Lilja is one stroke off the individual lead and Campbell is sixth after Monday's opening round of the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course.
In an 18-team field that includes four teams from the Big Ten Conference and three from the SEC, Campbell is 2-under (286), seven shots behind leader Texas A&M (279). Western Carolina is second (282), Illinois State third (283), while Marquette and South Florida are tied four fourth (284). Campbell is two strokes ahead of Wisconsin (288) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Lilja made five birdies and one bogey Monday while shooting a 4-under 68. Max Lyons of Marquette is the 18-hole leader at 5-under 67.
Campbell's
Alejandro Cogollo fired a 3-under 69, one shot off his collegiate low, and is tied for eighth. His round included four birdies and an eagle.
Edwin Blomander finished at even-par 72 and is tied for 24th. Freshman
Amadeus Susanto is tied for 66th (76) and sophomore
Henric Bjelke is tied for 76th (78).
Lilja is tied for the lead in par-4 scoring (-3), tied for second in par-3 scoring (-1) and tied for fifth in birdies (5).
Sunday's opening round was rained out. The event concludes Tuesday. Campbell will be paired with Marquette and South Florida and start from the first tee at 8:45 a.m. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
