The Camels (7-10, 2-3) are coming off a 78-63 win Wednesday at USC Upstate. Gediminas Mokseckas scored a career-high 20 points, including 4-of-5 threes, while Ricky Clemons and Juan Reyna added 14 points each for Campbell, which made 23 more free throws (26-36) than Upstate attempted (2-3).

Winthrop (7-11, 2-3) dropped its second-straight game Wednesday, a 66-52 setback against Radford in Rock Hill, S.C.  Kelton Talford led the Eagles with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but Winthrop could not overcome 37 percent shooting.

NOTES:
  • Campbell stands 4-3 at Gore Arena this year (1-1 vs. Big South foes at home), most recently posting a 63-58 victory Jan. 4 over Gardner-Webb.  Winthrop is winless (0-8 overall, 0-2 at Big South teams) away from Rock Hill, S.C., this season.
  • Fifth-year senior Ricky Clemons leads the Camels - and ranks 11th in the Big South Conference - with a 12.82 scoring average.  Joshua Lusane averages 10.4, while Anthony Dell'Orso (9.9) is the third-leading freshman scorer in the Big South.
  • Junior forward Kelton Talford leads Winthrop and ranks 4th among league scoring leaders (16.88), 2nd in rebounding (7.69) and first in FG% (.723).  Red-shirt senior Cory Hightower is 8th in the Big South in scoring (13.81), while junior guard Sin'Cere McMahon has come off the bench the last four games and is averaging 12.29 points (13th in the league).
  • Winthrop's eight road losses this year have come at Penn State (68-93), Auburn (65-89), Mercer (68-77), Furman (67-82), LSU (81-89) and Duquesne (57-74) in addition to league setbacks at USC Upstate (62-70) and Longwood (71-85).
  • The Eagles lead the all-time series with Campbell 25-21 and have won the last eight meetings.  Winthrop and Campbell have split eight games all-time at Gore Arena.  The last four games between the Camels and Eagles have been played at Rock Hill.
  • The team that led at half-time has won 11 of the last 14 meetings between the Camels and Eagles.  Last season, the score was tied 35-35 at the half in the only contest between the teams.
  • Last year at Rock Hill, Drew Buggs hit a fadeaway jumper with 4 seconds to play and Winthrop rallied for a 74-72 win.  Jordan Whitfield's pullup three from 25 feet at the final horn was on target, but just short and bounded off the front rim.  In a game that included 14 ties and 10 lead changes, the Eagles rallied from a six-point deficit with 2:59 to go.  Cory Hightower led WU with 17 points.  Cedric Henderson, Jr. topped the Camels with 21.
  • Camel assistant coach Monty Sanders spent last season as the director of player development on Coach Mark Prosser's staff at Winthrop.
  • Following Saturday's game, the Camels host Radford next Wednesday (Jan. 18) in a 7 p.m. start.
