Camels head to Gardner-Webb Saturday

CU has won 4 of its last 6 games

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After winning four of its last six contests, Campbell travels Saturday to Gardner-Webb for a 2:00 p.m. start on ESPN3.  The Camels stand in a tie for 5th place tie in the Big South standings, while GWU is tied for 3rd.

Campbell (11-14, 6-7) is coming off an 82-66 win Wednesday over High Point.  Anthony Dell'Orso hit career highs with 26 points and 10 rebounds as CU swept the season series from the Panthers for the second-straight year.  Jay Pal (14), Ricky Clemons (12), Joshua Lusane (11) and Gediminas Mokseckas (10) also reached double digits for Campbell, which shot 59 percent from the floor, 69.6 percent in the 2nd half.

Gardner-Webb (14-11, 9-4) won its sixth-straight game Thursday in a 61-48 decision at Radford.  Anthony Selden led four Runnin' Bulldogs in double figures with 14 points and GWU shot 61 percent in the 2nd half, while holding Radford to just 32 percent shooting overall.

On Jan. 4 at Buies Creek, Laurynas Vaistaras scored a career-high 13 points and Campbell never trailed in a 63-58 win over Gardner-Webb.  The Camels made 14 more free throws (15-23) than GWU (4-11) attempted.  Quest Aldridge came off the bench to lead GWU with 20 points, including 5-of-9 threes, in 23 minutes.

  • Seven Gardner-Webb standouts have gone on to play in the NBA, including Hall of Famer Artis Gilmore and All-Star John Drew.
  • Following Saturday's game, the Camels host Charleston Southern next Wednesday (Feb. 15) at 7 p.m.
