CHARLESTON, S.C. - Brittany Staves scored a career high 22 points and Campbell cruised to a 75-48 win at Charleston Southern Wednesday at the Buccaneer Fieldhouse.
Campbell (14-12, 9-6) never trailed and led by as many 37 to snap a three-game skid.
After a slow start in which both teams combined for nine points in the first quarter, Campbell opened the game up with a 17-3 run in the second and doubled the Buccaneers (4-22, 2-13) up with a 28-14 score at the half. Charleston Southern never cut it to single digits thereafter.
Despite only scoring six points in the first quarter, the Camels scored a Big South game season high in points, pouring in over 20 points in each of the remaining three quarters.
The Camels made 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the floor and 41.4 percent (12-29) from three while holding the Buccaneers to 25.5 percent (14-of-55) shooting including 2-of-13 made from range.
Staves made 8-of-11 from the floor, including 5-of-7 from behind the arc, while adding six boards and one steal in 26 minutes. Erika Joseph added 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting from three while Christabel Ezumah added eight points, 11 boards, four blocks and a career-best four assists.
CU held a 45-32 rebounding advantage, scored 26 points off 20 turnovers and held a 14-6 edge in second chance points.
Catherine Alben lead the Bucs with 16 points while Kennedi Jackson added 13.
Campbell heads to Presbyterian Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip-off in its final road game of the regular season.
