CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gianni Boone, Christabel Ezumah and Brittany Staves have received postseason honors from the Big South Conference.
Boone was named to the all-freshman team, Ezumah was named first team all-conference and Staves was named honorable mention all-conference and the league's scholar-athlete of the year.
In her first collegiate season, Boone averaged 8.7 points, 4.1 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals. A native of Washington, D.C., she has appeared in all 29 games this season and started in 20. Boone scored in double figures 14 times this season and dropped a career-high 20 points against Cleveland State.
The Big South blocks leader with 58 on the season, Ezumah ranks 23rd nationally averaging 2.0 blocks a game. She has scored in double-figures 16 times this season and had 20 or more points three times. A native of Sugar Hill, Ga., Ezumah recorded double-doubles in seven games. Staves averaged 9.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists during the regular season playing a team-high 30.6 minutes per game. She scored in double-figures 12 times, including scoring a career-best 22 points in 26 minutes at Charleston Southern. A kinesiology pre-physical therapy 4+1 program major, Staves holds a 3.617 cumulative grade point average and is pursuing her masters of business administration.
Campbell (15-14, 10-8) is seeded third for this week's conference tournament at Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte. The Camels will face sixth seeded Longwood in a rematch of last season's Big South Championship title game on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available at GoCamels.com/tickets.
