BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After posting a collegiate career low round at the Schenkel Invitational, Campbell University's
Tim Holmberg has been named Big South Conference men's golf freshman of the week.
Holmberg finished T30th at the Schenkel Invitational while competing against a field that included five top-50 teams and five schools from power 5 conferences. He shot 74-70-76—220, posting a collegiate low two-under par 70 in the second round on the George Cobb design.
A native of Uppsala, Sweden, Holmberg lowered his scoring average to 75.0 over 20 rounds this season and has compiled two of his best three finishes over the last two tournaments.
The Camels return to action Mar. 26-27 in the Seahawk Intercollegiate hosted by UNCW at the Country Club of Landfall Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C.
