Campbell, winning four straight and seven of its last nine, is 8-4 on the season after Saturday's
22-3 victory over Wofford. Twelve Camels registered points, while holding the Terriers to a program record tying low three goals (fourth time, last: April 6, 2022 at Radford, W 18-3).
CU raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter and wrapped an 11-goal run around the half in the 19-score win, out-shooting Wofford 37-8 for the day.
Following the win, senior
Rebekah Taylor was named the
Big South's Defensive Player of the Week. The Forest Hill, Md. native posted five caused turnovers with four ground balls to help the Camels to a 2-0 week.
So far this season, Camels have earned Big South weekly honors eight times.
Led by Taylor, the Camels have surrendered only 19 goals through four Big South games, the fewest number of goals allowed over any four game stretch in program history.
In conference games, the Camels lead the Big South in goals against average (4.8), ground balls per game (23.3), caused turnovers per game (15.0) and save percentage (.558). Campbell leads the country in caused turnovers per game, while ranking third in ground balls.
Individually,
Rasa Welsh leads the Camels with 50 points on 20 goals and 30 assists, while
Sam Bischoff has collected 42 points on 36 goals and six assists.
Ally Heath (23),
Joslin Hanbury (22) and
Olivia Ohlmann (21) have also registered more than 20 goals so far this season.
Taylor tops the defense with 24 caused turnovers to go along with 26 ground balls, with
Chandler Stewart posting 22 caused turnovers and 39 ground balls.
Shae Fitzgerald also owns 19 caused turnovers with 31 ground balls on the season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are 2-9 overall and 1-2 in Big South matchups, coming off a 15-11 win over Radford last week. Jada Preston leads GWU with 28 points on 10 goals and 18 assists, while Brittany Sherrod has netted a team-high 18 goals. Grace Briggs, meanwhile, owns 32 ground balls with 25 caused turnovers.
The Camels are 7-0 all-time in regular season matchups with GWU.
The Camels return to Barker-Lane Stadium for three of its final four regular season dates, including Longwood on Saturday, April 15. Campbell will recognize its 2023 seniors prior to taking on the Lancers.
