NINETY SIX, S.C. – With four golfers among the top 21 individuals, Campbell stands fifth after 36 holes Monday of the Big South Conference men's championship at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.
Stroke play concludes Tuesday with the top four teams advancing to Wednesday morning's match play semifinals. The match play champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth in the NCAA regionals.
Campbell (296-293—589) enters the final round three shots behind fourth place Winthrop (586). Longwood (579) leads the nine-team event at 3-over par, three shots ahead of Charleston Southern and Radford.
Senior
Henrik Lilja followed Monday morning's even-par opening round with a one-under 71 on the Davis Love III design and is tied for fourth (72-71—143), just two shots off the lead of Radford's Bryce Corbett (75-66—141) and Winthrop's Ian Faulconer (69-72-141).
Campbell seniors
Edwin Blomander stand T12th (72-75—147) and T18th (76-73—149), respectively. Freshman
Tim Holmberg (76-74—150) is T21st.
Douglas Nordlof shot an opening round 79, a number matched by substitute
Henric Bjelke Monday afternoon.
