RICHMOND, VA. – Freshman
Erik Johansson is tied for 21st individually and Campbell is 13th on the team leader board after Monday's first two rounds of the VCU Shootout at the Country Club of Virginia Tuckahoe Creek course.
In his first collegiate event, Johansson followed an opening-round 73 with a bogey-free 68 on the par-72, 6927-yard layout and enters Tuesday's final round at 3-under par.
Sophomore
Tim Holmberg (73-69—142) is tied for 31st, while junior
Henric Bjelke (69-76—145) is tied for 51st in the 84-golfer field. Holmberg made only one bogey in the afternoon round, while Bjelke's opening 18 included eight birdies.
Freshmen
Petter Dale (73-74—147) and
Joachim Larsen Tegner (76-75—151) are tied for 62nd and 75th, respectively.
As a team, Campbell was even (288) Monday morning and two-under (286) in the afternoon round. James Madison leads the 15-team event at 27-under par, three strokes ahead of Richmond and Davidson.
Alex Heffner of Davidson (69-62—131) and JMU's Daniel Cheng (64-67—131) share the 36-hole individual lead at 13-under par.
