Camels finish 10th at Sea Best

Larsen Tegner posts top 15 finish

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. – Joachim Larsen Tegner tied for 13th individually and Campbell moved up three places to 10th on the team leader board after Tuesday's final round of the Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley.

A freshman from Lier, Norway, Larsen Tegner (74-72-68—214) finished at 4-over par after Tuesday's 2-under 68 on the par-70 Pete Dye design.  He made four birdies and two bogeys over the last 18 holes to earn his second career top-15 individual finish.

Campbell posted the third-lowest round of the day as a team with an even-par 280, which matched the best 18-hole score for the Camels in nine trips to the event.  Only tournament winner and 26th-ranked Florida (286-276-279—841) and runner-up No. 33 North Florida (288-281-276—845) finished the day in red numbers.

The Camels (300-296-280—876) improved each round and finished three shots ahead of Liberty, 10 clear of FAU and 15 in front of Big 12 member UCF.

Robbie Higgins of UNF (69-71-65—205) won individual honors at 5-under par, one shot ahead of Florida's Ian Gilligan (70-67-69—206).

Campbell freshman Erik Johansson finished T21st (74-72-70—216), while junior Henric Bjelke was T43 (75-74-72—221). Sophomore Tim Holmberg was even on the day and finished T75 (83-78-70—231) and junior Douglas Nordlof finished T77 (77-80-75—232).

Larsen Tegner recorded Campbell's fifth-best individual finish ever at Dye's Valley after he tied for first in par-5 scoring (-5) in the 84-golfer field.  He also made 11 birdies, which tied for seventh.

The freshman also posted the second-best 18-hole score by a Camel golfer on the Pete Dye layout.  Gaston Bertinotti (2016), Craig Hornberger (2016), Brett McLamb (2019) and Pontus Nyholm (2020) have shot a 3-under 67 while representing Campbell at Dye's Valley.

Johansson (-3) tied for fifth on the par-5 holes, while Nordlof tied for sixth in par-3 scoring (-1). Bjelke made 37 pars, tied for eighth in the event.

The Fighting Camels continue their season Feb. 5-6 with the Battle at Briar's Creek, hosted by the College of Charleston at Johns Island, S.C.
