Camels set for season finale with NC A&T

BUIES CREEK - Campbell wraps up the 2023-24 regular season at home Saturday against NC A&T. The Camels will honor three seniors prior to Saturday's game: Alex Kotov, Gediminas Mokseckas, and Laurynas Vaistaras.

Previous Meeting
The Camels dropped their inaugural game in the CAA with a 76-62 defeat in Greensboro on Jan. 4. Anthony Dell'Orso posted a double-double with a game-high 24 points and 10 boards, but Landon Glasper and Camian Shell scored 19 and 18, respectively, for the Aggies.

The Camels started hot with six made threes to begin the game, but quickly went ice cold and allowed a game-changing 18-0 fun near the end of the first half they could never recover from.

Know Your Opponent
NC A&T enters the season finale at 7-23, 5-12 in the league and on an eight-game slide, with the last win coming on Feb. 1 against Hampton.

The Aggies are led by Landon Glasper's 20.9 ppg, the second-most in the CAA. Glasper recently returned to the A&T lineup after missing nearly a month from Jan. 25 - Feb. 22. Camian Shell carried some of the load in his absence as the team's second-leading scorer and assist leader.

A&T has been locked into the 12-seed in next week's CAA tournament.

Last Time Out
Campbell knocked down 11 threes but it wasn't enough to keep up with Charleston's hot shooting in a 96-73 loss. Reyne Smith took over the game with 10 made threes and a game-high 32 points.

Anthony Dell'Orso scored 20+ for the eighth straight game, pouring in a team-high 21. Dell'Orso now leads the CAA in scoring with 22.4 ppg in league play.

Tournament Seeding
Campbell is still jockeying for seeding in next week's CAA tournament, sitting around the 9-10 line. A Campbell win and Northeastern loss would move CU to the 9 seed (face the 8 seed Saturday at noon). Any other combination of results leaves Campbell as the 10 seed (face the 7 seed Saturday at 6 p.m.).

The CAA Championships in Washington D.C. begin Friday Mar. 8 with seeds 11-14 playing the first day. Campbell will begin play on Saturday Mar. 9. Call the Campbell ticket office at 1-877-Go-Humps for tickets.
