SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – Four Campbell golfers stand among the top 13 individuals and the Camels are fourth on the team leader board after 36 holes of the Coastal Athletic Association men's golf championship at the Dataw Island Club Cotton Dike course.
Henric Bjelke is tied for sixth place individually at 6-under (70-68—138), while
Erik Johansson (68-72—140) is tied for ninth (-4).
Tim Holmberg (72-71—143) and
Joachim Larsen Tegner (70-73—143) are T13th at 1-under for the Camels, who stand -12 as a team.
Elon (274-279—553) is the 36-hole leader in the team standings, followed by College of Charleston (276-281—557) and defending champion UNCW (272-287—559). After posting the team's best 36-hole score of the season, the Camels (280-284—564) are just five shots out of third place and seven out of second entering Tuesday's final round.
Bjelke matched his collegiate-low round by making seven birdies for the second-straight day. He leads the 55-player field with 14 birdies through 36 holes and also stands first in par-3 scoring (-3). Bjelke and Holmberg are T3rd in par-5 scoring (-6).
Larsen Tegner is 5-under on the par-5 holes and is tied with Johansson for 4th place with 24 pars.
Garnet Manley III shot a 3-over 75 Monday while playing the final 9 holes even.
As a team, the Camels sit third in par-5 scoring (-18), par-3 scoring (+2) and pars (106), while ranking fourth in birdies (41).
Charleston's Kieron van Wyk (66-69—135) owns a one-shot lead over Elon teammates Jack Wieler (68-68—136) and Bronson Myers (68-68—136) on the individual leader board.
The Camels will again be paired with Delaware and Drexel for Tuesday's final round and start from the first tee at 8:00 a.m. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
The winner of the CAA Championship will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA regionals May 13-15.
