SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – With four golfers among the top 20 individuals, Campbell finished fourth on the team leader board after Tuesday's final round of the Coastal Athletic Association men's golf championship at the Dataw Island Club Cotton Dike course.
Freshmen
Joachim Larsen Tegner (8th) and
Erik Johansson (T10th) posted top-10 individual finishes, while junior
Henric Bjelke was 18th and sophomore
Tim Holmberg T20th for the Camels, who entered as the fifth seed in the 11-team field.
Larsen Tegner (70-73-69—212) completed his first collegiate conference tournament with a bogey-free round and birdied three of his final six holes to earn his third top-10 finish of the season. He made 39 pars (tied for second in the 55-golfer field) and played the par-5 holes at 7-under.
Johansson (68-72-74—214) logged his second top-10 outing of the season after making 12 birdies and 32 pars. Bjelke (70-68-78—216) tied for second with 17 birdies and led the event in par-3 scoring (-3). Holmberg (72-71-75—218) earned his best individual finish of the season.
Top-seeded and 55th-ranked College of Charleston won the team title at a CAA record 35-under par (276-281-272—829), seven strokes ahead of third seed Elon (274-279-283—836). Second seed UNCW finished third (272-287-281—840).
CofC teammates Zach Reuland and Kieron van Wyk shared medalist honors at 13-under par.
Campbell (280-284-293—857) posted its best 54-hole score of the year and finished the event 7-under as a team, 15 shots clear of fifth-place Delaware (289-290-293—872).
Garnet Manley III shot a 3-over 75 Monday and Tuesday after
Douglas Nordlof opened the event with a 4-over 76.

The Course: Dataw Island Club – Cotton Dike Course (Par 72, 6998 Yards)
Located near Beaufort, S.C., Dataw Island is home to two 18-hole golf courses: Tom Fazio's Cotton Dike course and Arthur Hills' Morgan River course. Both courses were recently renovated and designed to ensure a pleasurable round for golfers of all abilities. Golfers enjoy beautiful natural surroundings as they wind their way through the island and among tidal marshland, live oaks dating back hundreds of years and Civil War era ruins – starting and ending at the Southern-style Clubhouse.
