CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Erik Johansson concluded 36 holes of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional at 9-over par Tuesday morning at the Finley Golf Club.
 
Originally scheduled for an 18-18-18 format, the second round started Monday afternoon due to heavy rain expected Tuesday and Wednesday.  Johansson (72-77—149) completed his second round Tuesday morning before heavy showers suspended play shortly after 11 a.m.
 
With stops and starts to play expected Tuesday, the 54-hole event is scheduled to conclude Wednesday.
 
Through 36 holes of play, Johansson was 65th on the individual leader board.  Calahan Keever of Clemson held the individual lead at 10-under par (65-65—130), one stroke ahead of host North Carolina's Austin Greaser and Johnny Keefer of Baylor on the par-70, 7084-yard Davis Love III redesign.
 
ETSU (274-265—539) owned the team lead through two rounds at 21-under par.  Clemson (-19), North Carolina (-13), Baylor (-11), Long Beach State (-10) and Georgia Tech (-10) rounded out the top five in the 13-team field.
 
Johansson made 21 pars and five birdies and played the par-5 holes at 2-under through his first two rounds.
 
The top five teams and top individual not on those qualifying teams from each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship, May 24-29 at the Champions Course at the Omni LaCosta Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
 
Notes: Johansson's selection marks the seventh time in the last eight seasons Campbell will participate in NCAA men's postseason play.  The Camels earned a place as a team in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.  Henrik Lilja competed as an individual in the 2022 NCAA Palm Beach Gardens Regional.  The 2020 season was not completed due to the Covid-19 pandemic… Under the direction of head coach John Crooks, Campbell has participated in NCAA regional play in 15-straight seasons in either men's or women's competition.  In Crooks' 34 years as head coach in Buies Creek, his men's and women's teams have combined for 39 postseason appearances.
