BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Highlighted by Lawson Harrill and Grant Knipp, seven Campbell baseball players received All-CAA recognition, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Harrill and Knipp were each named to the All-CAA first team, and Braeden O'Shaughnessy was recognized as an honorable mention.
Peyton Bonds, Nate Brittain, Charlie Meglio and Andrew Schuldt were all named to the CAA All-Rookie team.
Harrill was recently named a semifinalist for the 2024 Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award. He hit 23 home runs this year, second-most in program history. He led the Camels in batting average, hits, runs, doubles, home runs, RBI, total bases, and hit-by-pitch.
Knipp had a stellar start to the year. Through the first 22 games of the season, Knipp led the country in home runs, RBI, and slugging percentage. He was the only conference participant to be on the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List. Knipp was named the D1Baseball Midseason Breakout Star and first-team Midseason All-American.
O'Shaughnessy started 44 games for the Camels, batting .297 with 20 extra-base hits and 36 RBI. He finished the year with 63 putouts and 85 assists as an important piece of the infield.
Bonds became an integral part of the outfield, starting 36 games and recording 82 putouts. His rookie campaign ended with 40 hits and five home runs, and he was a perfect 14-for-14 in stolen bases.
Brittain took over a weekend starting position halfway through the season, getting seven starts. He had 41 strikeouts on the year and only gave up one home run in his 37.1 innings of work. Brittain started the Camels' only shutout this year, going six innings against Monmouth (5/12), allowing only three hits to go with seven strikeouts.
Meglio found his home on the left side of the infield this year, starting 43 games and making 46 appearances this year. He batted .275 with nine home runs. He was second on the team in hit-by-pitch, having done so 15 times.
A redshirt freshman, Schuldt started 41 games at catcher this year. He was third on the team with 46 hits and fourth in on-base percentage (.435). He had a .995 fielding percentage behind the plate and caught seven base-stealers.
