Seven Camels earn all-conference honors

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Lindsay Lumsden was named Rookie of the Year, Alyssa Henault was named Player of the Year, Isabella Smith was named Pitcher of the Year and Coach Trena Prater was named Coach of the Year, the CAA announced on Tuesday afternoon. Seven total players received all-conference honors. 

Five players, including Lumsden, Henault and Smith, earned all-conference first team honors, and three players, including Lumsden, were named to the all-conference rookie team. 

Rookie of the Year - Lindsay Lumsden, INF, Fr. 
In her first collegiate season, Lumsden has a .333 batting average, .375 on base percentage and .981 fielding percentage in conference play. Overall she ranks third on the team for batting average, third in the CAA for doubles, and ninth in the CAA with a .523 slugging percentage. She is ranked fourth in the conference for putouts, and has 282 total putouts with 10 assists. A two time rookie of the week selection this year, Lumsden becomes the first Camel to be named CAA Rookie of the Year. 

Player of the Year - Alyssa Henault, INF, Jr. 
Henault leads the Camels offensively with a .356 batting average and .445 on base and slugging percentage. She is second in the conference for triples, third for stolen bases, fourth for on base percentage, fifth for hits, and her batting average is ninth in the conference. She has a .913 fielding percentage with 68 putouts and 79 assists. A one time player of the week selection this year, Henault becomes the first Camel to be named CAA Player of the Year. 

Pitcher of the Year - Isabella Smith, P, R-Jr.
Smith, who is one of the top pitchers in the nation, leads the CAA in wins (23), strikeouts (208) and shutouts (8). She broke Campbell's all-time career record for strikeouts, and she now has 607 career strikeouts. A three time pitcher of the week selection this year, two time D1 softball pitcher of the week, and one time NCAA softball pitcher of the week, Smith becomes the first Camel to be named CAA Pitcher of the Year, by a unanimous vote. 

Coach of the Year - Trena Prater
Coach Prater guided the Camels to win the schools first CAA regular season title during their inaugural season. Campbell is 22-5 in conference play, which is the most wins by a team in CAA history. For conference play only, the Camels lead the CAA with a .330 batting average, 1.58 ERA and .975 fielding percentage. With it being only her second season at Campbell, Trena Prater has been the first Campbell coach to be named CAA Coach of the Year.

Tyra Parker, OF, Jr. 
Parker leads the team in stolen bases (22) and is second on the team for batting average (.346) and on base percentage (.401). She ranks second in the conference for stolen bases. Parker this season has compiled 46 hits, 24 runs and 12 RBIs. She also has a .983 fielding percentage with 58 putouts and one assist. 

Tristin Doster, C, Jr.
Doster is ranked fourth on the team for batting average (.320) and has compiled 33 hits including 10 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 30 RBIs. She is also ranked first in the CAA with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. 

All-Rookie Team (Along with Lindsay Lumsden)
Brooke Carey, INF, Fr.
Carey has a .364 conference only batting average, with 12 hits including two doubles, a home run and nine RBIs. She has a .515 slugging percentage and 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts. She was named CAA Rookie of the Week once. 

Hannah Leierer, P, Fr. 
Leierer has won three games during her first collegiate season, with one save and one shut out. She pitched her first career perfect game back in February against Winthrop. She has compiled 21 strikeouts over 34.0 innings pitched, and was named CAA Rookie of the Week once.
