Camels add six in transfer class

BUIES CREEK - Campbell and head coach Kevin McGeehan have added six players to next season's roster via the transfer portal. The group includes two guards and four forwards. 

This year's transfer class features Terren Frank from Idaho, Cameron Gregory from St. Francis, Bragi Gudmundsson from Penn State, Eric Van Der Heijden from UNCW, Israel Yaw from Maryland Eastern Shore, and Caleb Zurliene from McKendree University.

Terren Frank joins Campbell after two seasons with the Idaho Vandals. The 6'8" forward scored in double figures eight times last year, including a season-best 18 points against CSUN. He finished the season averaging 6.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Prior to Idaho, he made stops at TCU and Vanderbilt. 

Frank, a Los Angeles native, played high school ball at Sierra Canyon. He now comes to The Creek as a graduate student with one year of eligibility remaining. 

Cameron Gregory averaged 13.4 ppg, 2.9 rpg, and 2.7 apg in 19 games for the Red Flash last season. He poured in a season-high 25 points against Farleigh-Dickenson on Jan. 15 and eclipsed the 20-point mark three times. Gregory also scored 18 points against Campbell in December. The 6'5" sophomore was a threat from distance as well, shooting 35.4% in his 19 games. His 13.4 points per game held up as the top mark on the team by season's end.

The Accokeek, Md. will be a junior next season with two years of eligibility remaining.

Bragi Gudmundsson began his collegiate career at Penn State last season, where he saw action in seven games for the Nittany Lions, including a season-high four points against Michigan State. Prior to PSU, he played in the top professional league in his home country of Iceland, where he averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

Gudmundsson hails from Grendavik, Iceland and has three years of eligibility remaining. 

Eric Van Der Heijden comes to Campbell from CAA foe UNCW. Van Der Heijden began his collegiate career at Ole Miss before returning to his home state and playing the last two seasons at UNCW. Over the last two years, the 6'7" forward averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He played 20+ minutes in the Seahawks games at Kentucky and Arkansas. 

The Raleigh, N.C. native played at Millbrook High School and comes to Campbell with one year of eligibility remaining. 

Israel Yaw, a 6'9" forward, played last season at Maryland Eastern Shore. He appeared in 28 games and made three starts for the Hawks. He averaged 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 10 points against Cairn and hauled in a season-best five rebounds against Howard.

The Georgetown, Guyana native comes to Campbell with two years of eligibility remaining. 

Caleb Zurliene, a 6'7" forward, stuffed the stat sheet all season averaging 13.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.3 apg, and 2.7 blocks for McKendree. The team's blocks leader could also stretch the floor on offense and shot 32% from beyond the arc. He posted a season-high 28 points as one of five games scoring 20+. Zurliene reached the 1,000 career points mark in the final game of the season, a conference tournament quarterfinal.

The Aviston, Ill. native has one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate student after completing his degree at McKendree.
