Camels 2nd at Nemacolin Collegiate

4 CU players among top 20 when darkness halts 2nd round

FARMINGTON, PA. – With four golfers among the top 20 individuals, Campbell was in second place Monday when darkness halted the second round of the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia at Mystic Rock Golf Club.

With three-to-four holes left to complete in the second round, only three players in the 76-golfer field were in red numbers.

Campbell's Joachim Larsen Tegner and Henric Bjelke were tied for seventh at 2-over par, while Douglas Nordlof was T13th at plus-four.  Erik Johansson was T19 at 5-over and Benjamin Killingstad was 9-over (T39).

Kaleb Wilson of West Virginia held the individual lead at 5-under on the Pete Dye design.

The Camels opened the season with a runner-up finish Sept. 10 at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.  The team played nine holes one week later in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate before heavy rains forced the cancellation of the event.

In the season opener at Myrtle Beach, Joachim Larsen Tegner and Henric Bjelke finished T8th, while Erik Johansson was T16th.  Benjamin Killingstad produced a pair of under-par rounds and placed T27, while Douglas Nordlof matched his lowest score in competition for the Camels in the final round.

Play will resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday with the final round to start immediately after the conclusion of the second round.
