Camels face Hofstra on CBS Sports

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Fighting Camels continue their trip to Long Island with a game Saturday at Hofstra. Tip-off is set for noon and will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network. The Campbell radio call will be available on GoCamels.com and The Varisty Network App.

Saturday is the first of two times Campbell faces Hofstra this week, with the Pride set to make the return visit to Buies Creek a week from tomorrow on Feb. 1.

Series History
Saturday marks Campbell's first-ever trip to Hempstead and the Mack Sports Complex.  The Camels and Pride met for the first time last season in a 69-68 Campbell win.

Hofstra went scoreless the final 3:58 of the game last season and saw a potential game winner bounce off the rim and out. Anthony Dell'Orso led all scorers with 29 points on the night.

Last Time Out
Campbell came out hot and built a 22-point halftime lead en route to a 79-54 win at Stony Brook on Thursday night. Colby Duggan led the way with 27 points on 11-14 shooting including 5-7 from beyond the arc.

Campbell took its first lead at 4-2 and never looked back thanks to a 17-0 edge in points off turnovers in the first half. While the defense wasn't as stifling in the second half the offensive efficiency was better with Campbell shooting 64% after halftime.

The win was Campbell's fourth-largest conference road win in program history.

Scouting The Pride
Hofstra enters with an 11-9, 3-4 record and searching for its second win in a row after downing Delaware Thursday night. The Pride also own league wins over UNCW and Northeastern.

Jean Aranguren leads the way for Hofstra as the top scorer (14.5 ppg) and passer (4.6 apg). He's helped out by Cruz Davis with 14.1 ppg.

The Pride play a stout defense with opponents shooting 37.8% against them this season, the eighth-best mark in the country and tops in the CAA.

Hofstra is led by Speedy Claxton in his fourth year at the helm. The Pride were picked to finish fourth in the CAA preseason poll.

Looking Ahead
Campbell returns to The Creek to host league-leading William & Mary Thursday at 7 p.m. That one will be broadcast on FloCollege.
