BUIES CREEK - Dovydas Butka was tabbed CAA Preseason Honorable Mention, while the Camels were picked to finish 7th in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll.
Butka, a 6'9" sophomore, transferred to Campbell following a season at Pepperdine where he started all 35 games for the Waves. During his time in Malibu, Butka averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He logged 16 games with 10+ points and six games with 10+ rebounds, resulting in four double-doubles on the year.
As a freshman, the Lithuanian saw his scoring tick up to 11.7 points per game in West Coast Conference play, including a season-high 25 against Loyola Marymount.
Butka hails from Panevezys, Lithuania and played for BC Zalgiris across the top two leagues in Lithuania. He also has international playing experience, helping his country to a second-place finish at the 2022 U20 European Championship.
Campbell was picked to finish seventh in John Andrzejek's first year at the helm. The Camels finished fifth in the regular season a year ago with a 15-17, 10-8 record.
