Camels renew series with Wake Forest

BUIES CREEK - The Fighting Camels and Demon Deacons are set to renew the series after a 25-year hiatus when the Camels travel to Winston-Salem Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 pm inside LJVM Coliseum.

Series History
Campbell and Wake were regular foes throughout the 1980s and '90s, meeting six times between 1987 and 2000. All six meetings were in Winston-Salem, with Wake coming out on top each time.

Scouting the Deacs
Wake Forest brings a 4-2 record with an OT loss at No. 6 Michigan and a one-point loss to No. 15 Texas Tech. Wake is coming off another close game featuring a buzzer beating three to defeat Memphis.

Juke Harris leads the way for Wake Forest averaging 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. He is one of four players averaging double-figure scoring.

Wake Forest is led by Steve Forbes in his sixth season at the helm, and was picked 11th out of 18 in the ACC preseason poll.

Last Time Out
Campbell closed out its time in Utah with a 71-67 comeback win over UT Arlington. The Camels trailed by nine with less than eight minutes to play, but stormed back to overtake the Mavericks with under a minute. Jeremiah Johnson scored eight straight for the Camels down the stretch, including two go-ahead buckets. The win was Campbell's first win away from home this season.

DJ Smith poured in his fourth consecutive 20-point game, while Dovydas Butka added 17 and 9 rebounds.

Looking Ahead
Campbell takes a break for Thanksgiving before hitting the road again on a trip to Penn State. The Camels take on the Nittany Lions Dec. 2 at 7pm.
