Camels wrap up regular season at Charleston

BUIES CREEK - The Camels head to Charleston for the 2024-25 regular season finale against the Cougars. Tip-off is Saturday at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on FloCollege along with a radio call on GoCamels.com and The Varsity Network App.

Tie Breaker Scenarios
Campbell (10-7) can finish anywhere between fourth and sixth in the CAA standings, based on its own result, along with the William & Mary (11-6) and Monmouth (10-7) results. Tiebreaker scenarios are as follows:
  • If Campbell, Monmouth and William & Mary tie for fourth at 11-7: Campbell is the #4 seed, William & Mary is the #5 seed and Monmouth is the #6 seed. Teams are viewed as a mini-conference comparing head-to-head results amongst the group. In a mini-conference, Campbell is 2-0 (1.000), William & Mary on is 1-1 (.500) and Monmouth is 0-2 (.000).
  • If Campbell and William & Mary tie for fourth at 11-7: Campbell is the #4 seed and William & Mary is the #5 seed based on Campbell's head-to-head victory over William & Mary.
  • If Campbell and Monmouth tie for fifth at 10-8: Campbell is the #5 seed and Monmouth is the #6 seed based on Campbell's head-to-head victory over Monmouth.

Previous Meeting

The Camels fell 67-61 to Charleston in Buies Creek on Jan. 16. Campbell battled to hang around despite shooting only 2-21 from three-point range that night. Colby Duggan led all scorers with 21 points. Campbell led by five with five minutes to play, but couldn't finish the job and secure the victory. 

Last Time Out
Campbell lost 79-60 to UNCW in the final home game of the year. The Seahawks raced out to an early lead and kept Campbell at bay the rest of the game. Campbell cut a 20-point deficit down to six, but couldn't draw any closer before UNCW pushed that lead back to 24. Colby Duggan led all scorers with 19.

Scouting the Cougars
Charleston (22-8, 12-5) are still battling for their tournament seeding as well. The Cougs have secured a double bye, and can secure the #3 seed with a win Saturday.

Charleston has won three of its last four and is coming off a 94-84 win over Delaware Thursday night. Ante Brzovic leads the way with 18.6 ppg and 8.2 rebounds per game, placing him third in the CAA in both categories. He's helped out by CJ Fulton, the CAA's assist leader with 6.5 apg. 

Looking Ahead
Campbell heads to the Jersey Mike's CAA Championship at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C. The tournament begins Friday, with Campbell beginning its postseason journey on either Saturday or Sunday.
