Joachim Larsen Tegner is tied for 23rd place and Campbell stands T8th on the team leaderboard after Friday's opening round of the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights CC.
In a field that includes eight teams ranked among the nation's top 100, No. 87 Campbell is five shots behind No. 10 Utah heading into Saturday's second round. The 54-hole event concludes Sunday on the par-72, 7123-yard Forest Heights layout. Live scoring is available at

Host Georgia Southern is 10-under (278) as a team and leads No. 11 Florida (279) by one shot. Kentucky (285) is third at 3-under, while Utah is even (288). Campbell and West Virginia are tied for eighth at 5-over (293), 3 strokes behind Middle Tennessee and No. 36 Notre Dame and one behind Yale. Wisconsin and UAB are tied for 10th at six-over in the 14-team field.
Larsen Tegner is even through 18 holes after an opening round that included five birdies.
Benjamin Killingstad and
Henric Bjelke are tied for 32nd at one-over (73), while
Erik Johansson is T50 (75) and
Douglas Nordlof T75 (78).
Campbell will be paired with Yale and West Virginia for Saturday's second round and start from the first tee at 9:00 a.m.
Named for Georgia Southern alum and hall of fame broadcaster Chris Schenkel, the Schenkel Invitational has been a proving ground for some of the game's best players with names like Jay Haas, Andy Bean, Jerry Pate, Andy North, Bob Tway, Scott Verplank, Curtis Strange, Hal Sutton, Mark Calcavecchia, Bill Haas, Billy Horschel, Bubba Watson and Justin Thomas. Past Schenkel Invitational participants have gone on to win 17 majors, most recently Thomas at the 2017 and 2022 PGA Championships and 2023 Open Championship winner Brian Harman, and 354 PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions titles.
