Benjamin Killingstad is tied for the individual lead and Campbell holes a seven-stroke edge over host East Carolina after Saturday's second round of the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate at Cutter Creek GC.
Killingstad (69-70—139) is knotted in a 3-way tie at 5-under par, while teammate
Henric Bjelke (69-71—140) is tied for fourth.
Joachim Larsen Tegner (70-71—141) is tied for sixth, and
Erik Johansson (74-69—143) tied for 11th entering Sunday's final round.
The highest ranked team in the field, No. 86 Campbell (277-281—558) posted its best 36-hole total of the season and the 10th-best in the program's history.
Logan Graf (69-78—147) is T27 and
Douglas Nordlof T80 (81-79—160) in the 90-player field. Instead of the customary five-player lineup, the Cutter Creek event includes six golfers on each squad with the top four scores counting to the team total.
Killingstad, a freshman from Blommenholm, Norway, made the turn Saturday at 2-over, but proceeded to reel off four-straight birdies to play the back side at 4-under. He is 5-under on the par-5 holes through two rounds.
Bjelke aced the 220-yard par-3 third hole Saturday and added three more birdies. He is tied for the lead in par-3 scoring (-3) and has made nine birdies through 36 holes. Larsen Tegner is third in the field with 10 birdies after he made four Saturday. Johansson matched his season-low round on a day when he made five birdies.
The 54-hole event concludes Sunday on the par-72, 7327-yard Cutter Creek layout. Live scoring is available at
