CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Campbell opened play Saturday in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate at UNC Finley Golf Club.
One of six top-100 ranked programs in the 14-team field, No. 89 Campbell (289-292—581) was tied for 10th after 36 holes on the Davis Love redesign, site of the 2024 NCAA Chapel Hill Regional.
The 54-hole event concludes Sunday with double tee times starting at 8:15 a.m. on the par-70 layout.
Only seven golfers in the 80-player field finished the day in red numbers. David Ford of host and ninth-ranked North Carolina shot a 6-under 64 Saturday afternoon and holds the individual lead at 4-under (72-64—136), one stroke ahead of Kennesaw State's Kyle Bachkovsky (68-69—137).
Kennesaw State (284-273—557) was 7-under as a team in the second round, 3-under for the tournament, and holds a four-shot edge over UNC (280-281—561).
Campbell sophomore
Erik Johansson, who competed in the 2024 Chapel Hill Regional, is tied for 34th at 5-over (71-74—145).
Joachim Larsen Tegner is T39 (72-74—146), while
Henric Bjelke (71-76—147) and
Benjamin Killingstad (75-72—147) are T47 and
Logan Graf T56 (76-72—148).
The Camels will be paired with Davidson and VCU for Sunday's final round and start from the 10th tee at 9:05 a.m.
