Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Alex Fragasso won in three sets to clinch a 4-3 victory for Campbell over North Carolina A&T Wednesday afternoon at the Nisbet Tennis Center. Campbell (7-11, 1-3) picked up its first CAA match win of the season over the Aggies (13-5, 1-1).
The Camels opened the match by securing the doubles point behind wins from Thomas Drapeau and Matias Lofink (6-4) along with Luke Tollenaar and Fragasso (6-1).
The Aggies responded by taking the first two singles matches as Said Akbarov earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Adi Dagan at No. 3 while Jindrich Brill defeated Aleksandar Hudjec 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5. Tollenaar brought the Camels even with his 6-4, 6-3 victory over Ian Pedersen at No.2 before Lucas Coupu-Moison put the Aggies ahead with a 7-5, 7-6 win over Drapeau at No. 1.Â
After dropping the first set, Lofink came back and defeated Ethan Baly 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 to put the Camels even with NC A&T. Fragasso clinched the match with his 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 win over Kaua Santos.Â
Campbell wraps up the regular season on Saturday as it hosts South Carolina State in a double header with the women's team.
