Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Fighting Camels bounced back to even the series against North Carolina A&T with a 10-4 win Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium.

Campbell improved to 19-26 overall and regained their one-game advantage of the Aggies in the CAA standings with a 10-10 record. N.C. A&T now sit at 15-30 and 9-11 in conference games.

Zach Sabers started on the mound for Campbell and earned his first win of the season (1-0). He pitched 5.0 innings and allowed five hits and three runs while striking out eight Aggies. Gavin Sentell started for N.C. A&T, and his record moved to 1-8 after picking up the loss.

Darnell Parker Jr. smacked a one-out solo home run over the wall in left center to open the scoring in the top of the first inning.

Sabers started hot with a 1-2-3 inning and two strikeouts in the bottom of the first, but the Aggies tied the game in the second with a leadoff walk and double into the left field corner by Savoi Edwards. An RBI single from Nick DiCarlo put them ahead, 2-1.

The Camels tied the game with an RBI single from
Dalen Thompson in the top of the third, scoring
Joe Simpson from second. Prior to the RBI hit, Parker Jr. was hit by a pitch for the 21
st time of the season, moving him into a tie for 10
th place in school history for single season HBPs.

Joey Morton followed Thompson with an RBI single, then
Andrew Schuldt had an RBI double followed by an RBI groundout from
Jonah Oster to give the Camels a 5-2 lead.

Sabers had a second 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts in the bottom of the third to maintain the three-run lead.

A leadoff double from
Andrew Keller and a HBP to Simpson in the fourth inning forced the Aggies to the bullpen and reliever Darius Robinson. He induced a pop-up and a double play to get out of the inning.

Andrew Tinsley homered for the second straight game to cut into the Camel lead, 5-3, in the bottom of the fourth.

Morton responded in kind with a solo shot to center to lead off the top of the fifth inning, re-establishing the three-run lead. Oster knocked a one-out triple to deep center field, but Robinson struck out the next two Camels to leave him stranded.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Aggies had back-to-back hits to put runners on second and third with no outs, but Sabers struck out Tyler Smith to end the danger.

Keller hit his second leadoff double of the day in the top of the sixth inning off new A&T pitcher Carter Daniels. Simpson and Parker Jr. then drew back-to-back walks to load the bases with no outs. Thompson hit a line drive to the center fielder that did not allow the runners to advance, but Morton followed with a four-pitch walk for another RBI.

Mekai Griffin then entered the game for the Aggies with the bases loaded and one out. He recorded a strikeout and a groundout to leave the bases loaded.

Evans Hendricks took the mound for the Camels to start the bottom of the sixth inning. Tinsley and Edwards hit back-to-back doubles with one out to add another run on the board. Hendricks settled down with a strikeout and a 4-3 groundout to get out of the frame.

Griffin retired the first two Camels in the seventh before hitting Keller.
Lukas Schramm came on as a pinch-runner and stole second, then Simpson executed a hit-and-run to bring him home. Parker Jr. worked a walk, and after he stole second, Thompson provided a two-RBI single to put the Camels up, 10-4.

Drew Siegner took the mound for Campbell in the seventh. He allowed one Aggie baserunner but had two strikeouts to keep N.C. A&T at bay.

A weather delay began in between the seventh and eighth innings, as lightning was detected in the area, followed by rain at the stadium. The delay began at 1:45, and the action resumed at 3:30. Â

Jordan Bright took the mound for A&T after the delay. The Camels had two hits in the frame but left both runners on base.

Ethan Snyder pitched the eighth inning for Campbell. He retired the three, four and five hitters in order to get out of the frame unscathed.
Â
Snyder allowed one hit in the ninth inning, but he retired the subsequent three batters to end the game.
