BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Hannah Cornetto was named the CAA Softball Rookie of the Year, the CAA announced on Tuesday afternoon. Four total players received all-conference honors. 

Tyra Parker, Megan Gregory and Cornetto earned All-Conference First Team honors, and Allyiah Swiney earned All-Conference Second Team honors. Cornetto was also named to the CAA All-Rookie Team. 

Rookie of the Year - Hannah Cornetto, INF, Fr. 
In her first collegiate season, Cornetto slashed .351/.500/.506 just in conference play alone. She had 28 hits in 28 conference starts, with three doubles, four home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. The All-CAA First Team and CAA All-Rookie Team select currently has a .988 fielding percentage in conference play and .985 fielding percentage overall, with just five errors this season, 19 double plays, 316 putouts and 13 assists. Cornetto also leads the Camels this season in home runs (6). Overall this season Cornetto has 49 hits, 33 runs and 39 RBIs. Cornetto was named CAA Rookie of the Week three times.


First Team (Along with Hannah Cornetto) 
Tyra Parker, OF, Jr. 
Parker leads the team in batting average (.417, .450 CAA) stolen bases (34) and is second on the team for on base percentage (.489). She ranks first in the conference for stolen bases (16 CAA), stolen bases per game, and runs per game. Parker this season has compiled 65 hits, 49 runs and 27 RBIs. She also has a .974 fielding percentage with 73 putouts, one assist and just two errors all year. Parker was named CAA Player of the Week once. 

Megan Gregory, P, So.
Gregory has won 11 games during her second collegiate season, with three shutouts and 11 complete games, which is tied for first in the conference. She pitched her first career perfect game back in April in the Camels 10-0 five inning win over CAA opponent, Monmouth. She has compiled 107 strikeouts over 117.2 innings pitched, and was named CAA Pitcher of the Week three times.
