Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell is now 3-0 in the CAA Softball Championship, topping #2 seed Elon 6-2.
The Camels are now 37-18 (19-8 CAA) for the year, and the Phoenix are now 30-19 (21-6 CAA).
Livie Davis got the first hit of the game in the third inning, after hitting a single through the left side. Tyra Parker brought Davis in after hitting an RBI triple to center field. Amber DeSena hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, scoring Madison Ford who reached base after she drew a walk. In the fifth inning, Haley Krebs reached base on a fielding error and scored after Hannah Cornetto hit an RBI single up the middle.
Elon scored two runs in the sixth inning after Kaitlyn Wells hit a two RBI double to right center, scoring Payton Swart and Reagan Hartley.
Allyiah Swiney hit her third home run of the season in the seventh inning, giving the Camels an extra insurance run. DeSena then hit a two RBI double that gave Campbell a four run lead, the largest lead of the game.
Megan Gregory (13-5) carried a no-hit bid into the sixth, and took the win after pitching all 7.0 innings and only allowing two hits, no earned runs, two walks and eight strikeouts. Gregory has pitched the last 16 innings thus far for the Camels in the postseason and has allowed only two earned runs.
McKenna McCard (12-4) was credited with the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing three hits, two earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts.
