Camels to face Charleston Thursday night

BUIES CREEK - The Camels will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses in their third straight road game with a Thursday night tilt at Charleston. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside TD Arena.

Game Coverage
Thursday Jan. 22 - 7:00 p.m. | FloCollege | LiveStats

Series History
The Camels are 4-17 all-time against the Cougars, and are looking for the first win in the series since 1991 following 16 straight defeats. Campbell is 0-4 against the Cougs since joining the CAA.

Charleston swept both meetings with Campbell last season, a six point win in Buies Creek and a 22 point win in Charleston.

Scouting the Cougars
Charleston enters Thursday's contest with an 11-8, 4-2 record following back-to-back road losses at Towson and Stony Brook.

The Cougars are led by Jlynn Counter, a graduate transfer from Middle Tennessee, leading the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and assists (4.9 apg). His passing bumps to 6.7 assists per game in league play to pace the CAA.

Campbell transfer Colby Duggan missed non-conference play with an injury, and has averaged 12.6 points per game in six games since his return.

The Cougars coached led by Chris Mack in his second year with the program.

Last Time Out
Campbell led by as many as 13 in the second half, but saw the lead slip away in a 78-75 defeat at UNCW. DJ Smith led all scorers with 24, his fifth consecutive 20 point game as he remains the leading scorer in CAA play with 24.3 points per game.

Dovydas Butka hauled in his sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds to remain atop the CAA rebounding charts with 11.6 rpg in league games.

Looking Ahead
Campbell returns to Gore Arena to host Monmouth Saturday at noon. That game was moved up from the originally scheduled tip time due to the threat of winter weather in the area. Saturday's game will be available on FloCollege, as well as WRAL2 in the local area.
