Camels return home to host Monmouth

BUIES CREEK - Campbell will look to get back in the win column and stay unbeaten at home, hosting Monmouth Saturday at noon. The game time was moved up in an attempt to avoid potential winter weather in the area.

First Meeting with Monmouth
Campbell picked up a comeback win, topping Monmouth 68-65 on New Year's Eve. The Camels trailed by 7 with 7 minutes to play before storming back and taking a lead with 1:59 to play. DJ Smith scored a game-high 24 while Dovydas Butka posted 14 points and 14 rebounds. 

Last Time Out
Campbell fell 87-83 at Charleston for a third consecutive loss. The Camels led by one at halftime before Charleston scored 53 points in the second half. Campbell trailed by 11 with 2:53 to go and worked the deficit down to two, but a pair of Cougar free throws kept Campbell from having a shot to tie or win at the buzzer.

DJ Smith scored 31 points, his third 30-point game in the last five, and sixth straight 20 point game.

Scouting The Hawks
Monmouth brings an identical record as Campbell into the game, sitting at 9-11, 3-4 in the league. The Hawks dropped the first leg of their road trip 65-63 at Hampton. 

Jason Rivera-Torres leads the way with 15.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, while point guard Jack Collins leads the CAA with 5.5 assists per game.
