Camels host Hampton Thursday night

BUIES CREEK - The Camels will look to build on back-to-back CAA wins when they host Hampton Thursday night at 7pm. The game is a White Out, with all fans encouraged to wear white.

Series History
The Camels are 11-6 all-time against the Pirates in a series that dates back to 1971. Campbell is 2-1 against Hampton as CAA foes, picking up a win last season in Virginia. The Camels trailed by 10 at halftime before storming back for the 66-55 win behind 21 points from Jasin Sinani.

Last Time Out
Campbell piled up the points in a 97-82 win over Northeastern. The 97 points are Campbell's most against a conference opponent in regulation since 2007 (104 vs Stetson). DJ Smith led the way with a career-high 31 to pace five Camels in double figures. Dovydas Butka, Jeremiah Johnson and Tasos Cook all logged 15 while Muneer Newton added 12.

The high-flying Camels notched a season-best seven dunks and came away with 46 points in the paint.

Scouting the Pirates
Hampton carries an 8-8, 2-1 record into Thursday's action, an identical record to Campbell. The Pirates defeated Towson and Stony Brook to start league play before a setback at UNCW in a low-scoring 49-45 final.

Hampton is led by Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt, averaging 10.9 points and 3.1 assists per game. Xzavier Long leads the team and the CAA in rebounding with 10.7 rebounds per game.

Ivan Thomas returns to Hampton in his second year at the helm.

Looking Ahead
Campbell visits Elon Saturday in the first of three straight road games. Tip-off at Elon is set for 7 p.m.
