Adam Hepker joins basketball staff

BUIES CREEK - Adam Hepker has joined Jimmie Williams' coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Hepker comes to The Creek following four seasons as the head coach MidAmerica Nazarene (NAIA), the alma mater of both Hepker and Williams.

"We are so excited Coach Hepker is coming to Campbell," said Jimmie Williams. "He is proven winner both as a player and as a head coach. Hep and I share the same alma mater, MidAmerica Nazarene University. We both are in this business because of what we had modeled in front of us from our coach, Coach Rocky Lamar. I'm six years older than Hep, so we met for the first time when he was in middle school and I was in college working coach Lamar's summer camp. He is one of the best to ever wear a Pioneer jersey. He won a national championship and countless other individual awards as a player. We have remained close over the years and have always gravitated towards each other at final fours and on the road recruiting. He is such a great fit here even without all of our history together. He is an amazing human being. He loves Jesus, he loves his family, and he has a deep passion for coaching and developing young men. He has a competitive spirit that I love, and have always appreciated about him. I can't wait for his wife Amy, and his three kiddos, Brenley, Bryson, and Brooklyn to move here. Everyone here at Campbell is going to love the Hepkers!"

Over the past four seasons, Hepker led the Pioneers to a 77-42 overall record, going 62-28 in league play. His 2023-24 squad posted a sterling 25-6, 22-2 record, winning the outright regular season conference title.

Prior to taking the reigns at MNU, Hepker spent four seasons as the lead assistant at Ottawa University of Arizona (2017-21). He previously worked as an assistant at Grand View (2015-17) for two seasons and helped the Vikings reach the NAIA title game in 2016.

His first coaching job was at MNU, where he served as an assistant for five years (2010-15) following his playing career. He helped his alma mater reach the NAIA title game three times. Hepker coached at least one all-American in each of his five seasons on staff at MNU

Hepker got his start at MidAmerica Nazarene as one of the most decorated players in program history, earning three NAIA all-america honors, twice named Heart of America Player of the Year, and the 2007 NAIA National Championship with Tournament MVP honors.
