Campbell earned its first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over William & Mary. Nicholas Vingsgaard scored from 30 yards out in the seventh minute, and the Camel defense held strong to preserve its second shutout of the season.

Vingsgaard was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for his efforts in the victory.

The Phoenix have recorded four consecutive draws coming into the season finale, including nil-nil decisions against ranked opponents UNCW and Wake Forest. The defending conference champions clinched its spot in the CAA tournament thanks in part to Campbell's victory over William & Mary. Dominik Renz leads the squad with nine goals and 22 points. Drew Hartman has 36 saves and has allowed just eight goals in 12 matches.

Campbell trails in the overall series, 11-15-2, after the Phoenix came away with a 3-0 decision in Buies Creek in September.

CU opens the new season with fresh faces across the board, including a new boss in head coach Ricky Davey. The first-year skipper comes to Buies Creek after serving as the associate head coach at Mercer last season. In addition to his success at the collegiate level, Davey has also proven to be a winning coach in the Atlanta United Academy program with its U14 and U19 squads.

Returning midfielder Xander Martin was named to the All-CAA Preseason Team as an honorable mention. He is one of the few returning faces, as the Camels welcome 18 newcomers.

The Camels rank second among all Division I teams in total minutes lost from the 2025 season (18,783) and percentage of minutes lost (94.9%).
