Softball travels to Elon for weekend CAA series

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell softball team heads to Elon for a three-game CAA series against the Phoenix at Hunt Softball Park. The matchup is a rematch of the 2025 CAA Championship, where Elon defeated Campbell in a hard-fought three-game series.

First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Live stats will be available for all three games, which will be streamed on FloCollege.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

Elon enters with an 11-20 overall record and a 5-1 mark in CAA play, winning both of their series against UNCW and NC A&T. The Phoenix are the reigning CAA champions and were picked to finish first in the CAA South in the preseason poll. Elon is riding a two-game losing streak after suffering its first conference loss of the season to UNCW and a six-inning, run-rule loss to Wofford in midweek action.

The Phoenix are led by head coach Kathy Bocock, who earned her 600th career win against UNCW on March 21. Bocock is the winningest coach in program history, and the victory marked her 365th in 15 seasons at Elon.

Redshirt senior outfielder Chloe Hatzopoulos leads Elon with a .314 batting average, 27 hits and 39 total bases. Junior Anna Dew has made a significant jump this season and anchors the pitching staff. A two-time CAA Pitcher of the Week, she leads the team in innings pitched (77.0), ERA (2.73), complete games (seven) and strikeouts (74). She ranks second in the CAA in strikeouts and third in strikeouts per seven innings (6.8).

Elon placed three players on the 2026 Preseason All-CAA Team: Hatzopoulos, junior Greta Hessenthaler and sophomore Kayla Wilson.
