BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Freshman pitcher
Katelyn Hubley was named CAA Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Hubley delivered one of her top performances of the season in Campbell's extra-inning 3-1 victory over Elon on Friday. The Henrico, Va., native tossed all 10 innings and threw 124 pitches in the complete-game victory. The freshman surrendered just one hit and one earned run while striking out eight batters in total, including three in extra innings, to pick up her 10th win of the season.
The honor marks the second CAA weekly award of her career. She was named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week on March 3 for her performance at the Battle at the Max Tournament. It is the fourth weekly CAA award Campbell has earned this season. Hubley is the first player on the team to earn two this season and the second in program history to earn multiple CAA Rookie of the Week honors, joining sophomore
Hannah Cornetto.
Hofstra junior Dahlia Palacio and UNCW junior Cassidy Relay were named CAA Co-Players of the Week. Hofstra senior Emma Falen was named CAA Pitcher of the Week.
Hubley and the Camels will play at Duke on Tuesday in Durham. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
